Top 5 2013 Favourites | Skincare

So you've guessed it. We have now come to my favourite Skincare Products of 2013... This was quite hard for me to choose as I also have tonnes of skincare products, But here are my top 5...

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan - I'm yet to blog about this product as I have been super busy, But after trying it out in November, For my Work Christmas Party and for Christmas and New Year, this has to be one of the best fake tan's EVER! The colour isn't too dark or fake looking and it left me with a natural (2 weeks in Tenerife) tan, plus applying it with the Cocoa Brown Tanning Mitt also left me streak free and without any patches.
I'm a St. Tropez and Xen Tan girl at heart but I must say this has now taken the lead and I can't wait to purchase another bottle.

Super Facial by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Mask (Blog Post) - This is such a lovely face mask that I now use on a regular basis. Its results have left my skin much softer, more glowing and I have had less unwanted breakouts. It is also super affordable too.

Dr.Ceuticals Super Repair Hand Cream (Blog Post) - This has been a keeper in my handbag for a while now. It's super nourishing on your hands and doesn't leave them feeling sticky. I use it as often as I can everyday to keep my hands soft over the winter months. Its smell also reminds me of Nivea Creme too! Yum.

Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Polish - I don't think I know a girl out there that doesn't love Soap and Glory. This has been a firm favourite of mine for a number of years and I rediscovered it again this year. It's great at making your skin super soft and perfect for prepping your skin before applying fake tan. It also smells delicious too!

Rituals Touch of Happiness Body Cream (Blog Post) - This is such an amazing Body Cream. First of all it smells amazing with its Sweet Orange and Cedar Wood fragrance and second of all, it works wonders on your skin leaving it soft and moisturised. My tub probably only has enough left for my big toe because my boyfriend loves using it too! I think he should maybe go and buy me some more... Ha.

Top 5 2013 Favourites | Nails

So after posting my 2013 makeup and blogger favourites it's now time for nails. Altogether I have just over 300 nail polishes in my collection, so as you can guess this was quite a challenge to narrow it down to just 5, well actually 4 nail polish favourites of 2013!

Nailene 200 Full Cover Nails in Petite Square - In just over 2 months I have already purchased 2 packs of these beauties! These have to be the best false nails I have ever worn including professional ones that I've had done in the salon!
These nails are perfect for small nail beds like mine and they are also just the right length for me to manage. You also get 200 nails in the pack (handy for me as I'm forever changing my nail colour) and I find that after applying, the nails will last for about 4-5 days with only the odd one pinging off, but that is easily resolved if you carry a spare glue in your bag!

Barry M Matte Espresso (Blog Post) - Every girl should have a black nail polish in their collection and this year we have seen tonnes of nail trends including the matte effect.
This is great worn matte with an accent gloss nail or if you don't fancy the matte effect you can always add a top coat. See my Back to Black NOTD which also features Nailene Petite Square Nails (mentioned above).

Essie Fiji (Blog Post) - This was one of the first Essie nail polishes I purchased this year and it's a firm favourite in my collection. It looks great on it's own but looks even better with glitter or sparkles on top. My favourite combo is Essie Fiji with Models Own Ibiza Mix.

Rimmel Space Dust in Aurora (Blog Post) - This is such a pretty nail colour that I've used nearly half the bottle up already! It's a pale, peachy-pink shade with silver glitter that contains micro shimmer and chunky glitters to give it a gorgeous textured finish.

MUA Pistachio Ice Cream (Blog Post) -  Earlier this year I was on the search for this nail polish for months as it was always sold out in every Superdrug within a 10 mile radius of me, yes I wanted it that bad! Until one day when I randomly noticed one bottle left on the shelf and it finally landed in my collection. This nail colour is a dupe for Essie's Mint Candy Apple yet it costs a fraction of the price as it costs only £1... YES ONE POUND!

LLYMLRS - Lily has to be one of my favourite all time bloggers. Her fashion sense is absolutely amazing. The day after I chopped my locks off to a long ombre bob I noticed on her Instagram that she had also decided to have a similar hairstyle too, I then knew that I must be bang on trend if Lily is rockin' it.
I also love her beauty blog ETCLLYMLRS.

DizzyBrunette3 - I have been reading Corries Blog since she started out 3 years ago. She has a gorgeous Chelsea-girl style and her hair is just truly amazing. Plus she always looks so tanned... I think I need to find out what her secret it!

Couture Girl - I have been reading Kayleigh's blog since I started blogging 2 years ago. Her blog has grown to be utterly amazing. Her posts are word perfect and her photography is to die for. She has an amazing taste for makeup and her makeup collection puts mine to shame!

What Olivia Did... - I've only just recently started reading Olivia's blog and I must say where the hell have I been! Her blog is just gorgeous, her photos are amazing and she is just phenomenally beautiful.

Milkteef - Emma's blog is just perfect. Everything she writes about I love to read and her makeup always looks flawless. Enough said!

Top 5 2013 Favourites | Makeup

Hi Everyone. So I thought I would jump on the blogger bandwagon and show you some of my favourite things from 2013. This post is on my Top 5 2013 Makeup Products.

Too Faced, The Return of Sexy Palette (Blog Post) - This has to be one of my favourite Eye Palettes EVER! It contains 15 must have wet-dry eye shadows that are organised into three provocative collections: The Ingenue, The Icon and The Bombshell. To complete this set, it also comes with a full-size waterproof eyeliner in Perfect Black, a Deluxe Shadow Insurance Primer and 3 How-To Cards with 6 eye makeup looks.

Sleek Contour and Blush Palette in Light 373 (Blog Post) - This is such a pretty palette that contains a contour matte colour that is just the right shade for me to contour my cheek bones, A highlighter which has a slight glow to it plus it isn't too glittery like other highlighters and also a pretty rose gold blush which is really similar to NARS Orgasm.

MAC Lipsticks - Creme Cup & Impassioned (Blog Post) - This year I finally decided to add some MAC Lipsticks to my collection. My first purchase was Impassioned, an amped up fuschia shade which is an Amplified finish. This is such a great shade for statement lips and looks great with a simple winged liner.
My second purchase was Creme Cup, a beautiful nude pink shade which is a Creamsheen finish. This may look pretty boring but on your lips it's such a pretty pink shade that goes with almost any eye makeup look. As you can see this is my go-to lipstick and I need to purchase a new one soon.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (Blog Post) - After seeing Tanya Burr mention this is nearly every makeup tutorial I finally purchased it late this year. There's nothing better than long, thick, fluttery lashes and this did just that! It's one of the best drugstore mascaras I have ever tried with YSL Shocking Mascara being my favourite High-end Mascara.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation = Soft Beige - This has to be my all time favourite foundation. Out of all Drugstore and high-end brands I must say this tops them all. It leaves my skin looking flawless and also lasts all day on my skin. I really cannot fault this foundation, It is the Bomb... Enough said!

New Hair... New Hair Product | Fudge Texture Blaster

Hi Everyone, I'm finally back!!! After being super busy preparing for Christmas I'm now back in blogging action.
If you follow me on Twitter/Instagram then you'll know that I decided to chop my hair off a couple of weeks ago. What made me do it? Since the start of November I had been wanting to cut my hair off, I finally had enough of my long Hair Extensions and having a photo of Kimberley Walsh's Ombre Bob saved into my phone just kept tempting me more and more. So I thought what the hell, Lets go for it!

I cut and coloured my hair myself, Crazy I know but I'm a hairdresser and I really don't trust anyone on my hair but myself. I always know how I want my hair and it's much easier than having to explain it all to someone else.
I also used my favourite Halo Hair Extensions in Light Blonde to add more volume to my hair to make it super thick and also to add length to the front which I find can be quite wispy.

Now less about the hair and more about the product... This hairstyle is super easy to manage, I literally blast my hair dry with the hairdryer, use a brush on the top sections to add a bit of volume, straighten parts to keep it looking messy and then use the Fudge Texture Blaster to add tonnes of texture to my hair.
This product is not sticky like using a paste or a wax and with a blast to your hair creates texture and shape to your hair leaving it with a flexible but firm holding finish.

I always keep a can of this product in my bag as with one blast your hair is revived again. When I first cut my hair and was looking for a texturising product I was looking at pastes and waxes, But I'm so glad that I found this product and it's now one of my everyday go-to products for my hair. It also smells great too!

What hair do you prefer? Long or Short? Do you have any favourite Hair Products?

Weekly Ramblings #42

Image: We Heart It.

Hi Lovelies. Hope you are all getting into the Christmas Spirit!
Things have been super busy at work and I have been really busy in my spare time trying to get ready for Christmas that I haven't had much time to Blog. I nearly have all my Christmas Presents for everyone but I think I may have to join the Christmas Shopping crowds on Sunday to finish the last little bits off.

This week I have dramatically changed my appearance... I chopped my hair off! I now have a long ombre bob like Kimberley Walsh. I was a little nervous at first but I'm really glad that I did it and it's also a little easier to manage of the morning!

What have you been up to this week? Are you ready for Christmas?

Too Faced: The Return of Sexy Palette

Hi Everyone! When this sexy little palette surprised me at my door a couple of weeks ago I was absolutely amazed! How gorgeous is this palette? It contains 15 must have wet-dry eye shadows that are organised into three provocative collections: The Ingenue, The Icon and The Bombshell. To complete this set, it also comes with a full-size waterproof eyeliner in Perfect Black, a Deluxe Shadow Insurance Primer and 3 How-To Cards with 6 eye makeup looks.

The beautiful Mirrored Palette contains 15 gorgeous shades that range from soft, earthy neutrals to subtle pops of colour. Some of the shades also have a gorgeous shimmer and other have a dazzling glitter shimmer.
The primer is also a great little thing too, Wear it underneath your Too Faced Eye Shadows and you will reveal their true colour and they will also last much longer.
The Waterproof Eyeliner is super black and also wearable on the waterline. Some eyeliners really irritate my sensitive eyes but I couldn't even feel that I was wearing this on my waterline.

My favourite shades out of the palette have to be: New in Town, Ingenue and Maneater. They are great everyday shades with a subtle shimmer. This palette is currently my go-to palette as it contains all the shades I love to wear and it is perfect for day-night makeup looks.

The Too Faced: The Return of Sexy Palette retails at £38.50 and is available from Boots, Debenhams and Beauty Bay

Have you tried The Return of Sexy Palette? What's your current favourite Eye Shadow Palette?

Orla Kiely Mini Scented Candle & Reed Diffuser Set

Hi Lovelies. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I'm finally back in blogging action as I have been so busy with work lately and it was also my little girls 6th Birthday on Friday so I have been busy preparing for that.

As Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, some of you may still be struggling to find some gifts. One Gift Set that I'm really loving this year is this Orla Kiely Mini Scented Candle & Reed Diffuser Set.
I'm a sucker when it comes to scented candles. There's nothing more fulfilling than sitting down having a relaxing night with a couple of candles lit to make you feel more relaxed.

In the Orla kiely Set you get a Geranium and Myrrh Mini Scented Candle (that burns for up to 23 hours) and also a Geranium and Myrrh Reed Diffuser.
The candle is made using 100% vegetal wax and the Wick is made from pure cotton. This means that the candle will burn cleanly and evenly as long as you follow the care instructions.
The diffuser is also better than any diffuser I have owned. Most diffusers I have purchased you can only smell if you literally shove your nose right up to them, But after leaving this diffuser over night every time I walk into my bedroom I can smell the warming fragrance.

The packaging is also really retro looking for the Geranium and Myrrh Set, But other fragrances are available with different packaging/designs.

This Orla Kiely Set is available from Feelunique.com and retails at a reasonable £22.95. This would make a perfect stocking filler for any candle lover this Christmas.

Have you tried any Orla Kiely Products?

Weekly Ramblings #41

Image: We Heart It. Edited by: Me.

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all ok.
Sorry I have been rather quiet again over the last week. With my new job taking up most of my hours I have been super busy, Plus I have tonnes of drafts ready to publish but because when I get home it's super dark, it makes photography rubbish! I need to either take my photos of a weekend in a huge bulk or invest in a mini natural light box!

So December is here... I'm still not in the whole Christmas spirit yet as I'm too busy worrying about how much it's all going to cost! Plus it's my little girls 6th Birthday on Friday so I'm more excited about that at the moment. We are off out for a meal for her Birthday and then on Saturday me and my boyfriend have got a well deserved date night (we haven't had one in a while) and we are off to the German Market in Birmingham.

Hope you are all having a lovely week. What are you up to the weekend?

L'Oreal Velvety-Soft Toner & Eye Makeup Remover

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all ok. I can't believe the weekend is nearly here! Hooray. I'm really enjoying my second week into my new job but I'll be glad to have the weekend off to have a relax.
While shopping a couple of weeks ago I was on the search for a new cleanser as my current L'Oreal Micellar Solution had run out and I fancied trying something else. I decided on L'oreal Skin Perfection Velvety-Soft Toner and I decided to try the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover too as my eyes are really sensitive and thought this would be more gentle on my eyes.

L'Oreal Velvety-Soft Toner helps to remove Makeup and impurities from the skin and reveal a better skin texture. Compared to the Micellar Solution this has more of an oil texture to it but it still removes my makeup just as good and my skin feels more softer than it did after using the Micellar Solution.
As for the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover this was a huge epic fail! It says that it's a gentle eye makeup remover that effectively removes eye makeup. Gentle it was, but all it did was leave me with black smudged eyes. I had to remove my eye makeup with this and then remove the black circles around my eyes with the Toner. This to me is a waste of money as the main thing it should be able to remove is Mascara, but it was an absolute nightmare to get off.

I'm really happy with the Velvety-Soft Toner and prefer it to the Micellar Solution but I think the Eye makeup remover is a huge fail.
I purchased both of these items from Boots and they retail at £3.99 for the Toner and £2.99 for the Eye Makeup Remover.

Have you tried either of these products? What are your favourite skincare products at the moment?

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Calming Creamy Cleanser

Hi Lovelies. After trying out Super Facialist Deep Clean Clay Mask it has truly transformed my skin as it is more softer and clearer since I have been using it for 2 weeks and my skin just looks much better when I have no makeup days. Next it was time to try Super Facialist Creamy Cleanser...

Super Facialist Calming Creamy Cleaner is a gentle cleanser which is enriched with Cocoa and Shea Butters along with Pro-vitamin B5 and a blend of natural waxes that work to breakdown impurities and remove makeup from the skin without leaving the skin tight or dry.
This cleanser did just that and removed my makeup with ease and it is also gentle on the eyes too which is really good as I have the worlds worst sensitive eyes. After rinsing the cleanser with warm water my skin was clear and every trace of makeup was gone and I was left with cool, refreshed skin.

This didn't leave my face red and tight like some other face products I have used and it also has a lovely slight floral fragrance too which is really refreshing.

I'm completely loving Super Facialist products at the moment and I really want to try the day cream next.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan is available from Boots and Superfacialist.co.uk and the creamy cleanser retails for a reasonable £7.99.

Have you tried any Super Facialist products? What's your favourite?
