Weekly Ramblings #24

♥ I've had such a busy week with our little puppy and if that wasn't enough we are now looking after my boyfriends sisters dog while she's away on holiday. Super busy!
♥ On Thursday I attended Denim Lovers at Selfridges and met the lovely Charlie Miller, Executive Fashion Director of Grazia Magazine. I had such a fun time and it was so lovely to meet her.
♥ This weekend me and my boyfriend took our bikes to Cannock Chase along with our new puppy Alfie in his Basket on the front of my bike. I think this is such a clever idea as he can come out with us but because his legs are so tiny that means he wouldn't beable to keep up with us, so he can then sit and have a sleep in his basket. It also came in handy for my water too! ha.
♥ At Cannock Chase me and my boyfriend cycled nearly 40 miles, I was absolutely knackered afterwards that as soon as we ate our Chinese on the evening we were fast asleep within minutes! The next day I also felt the strain in my legs from all the cycling but thankfully they are feeling much better now! It just shows how unfit I actually am!

What have you been up to this week? Is cycling something you enjoy doing?

Guest Post | Summer Trend by Precious - Fashion Kween

Hello guys my names precious olubiyi, I blog at Fashion Kween and i will be a guest blogger here today, it took me a while to come up with something but eventually i got around to it, anyhoo i decided to do a summer trends post, because its only befitting to the season we are in. This summer i have seen quite a lot of people rock the denim on denim look something that was very popular back in the day (i say that because i  dont know what exact time period). of course i see a lot of people wearing this trend but not a lot of people know how to wear it my secret for the denim on denim look is very simple and i figured it the hard way, when wearing denim on denim don't wear the same shade of colors  the only time you can wear the same shade is if they are both wash off denim, because hey are easier to style and incorporate other colors with, so i decided rather than tell you about this trend which will take ages and endless paragraphs i've decided to show you how i wear the denim on denim trend. no seriously please i hope you enjoy :) x

SHIRT: Easy pickins
 Levi JEANS: Macys
 American EagleSANDALS: Payless

I hope i have somewhat done justice to this trend, because i love it so much, as you can see the wash off denim shirt allows me to pair it up with a colorful clutch, and i am able to wear it down with a pair of white sandals or wear it up with a pair of white heels and honestly speaking i love wearing it with the white heels. thanks you for giving me your time i really appreciate it and if you want to see more of me head on over to my blog Fashion kween where i blog about stuff, or you can find me on twitter where i crack really bad jokes (you've been warned) @_myprecious_  and you can even find me on instagram where i take a ton of selfies like i mean a ton of them @_myprecious_

Feel Fabulous this Summer with B-Sensible

Sleep is the best beauty remedy…

Hi Lovelies, Hope you are all ok. A few weeks ago I received a B-Sensible King Size Fitted Sheet to try out and before trying out this product I normally have just a regular plain fitted sheet that you can pick up in your local Asda or M&S, So when I heard about this product I couldn't wait to try it out and see why it was different to the rest.

B-Sensible has created a “new dawn” in bedding for everyone which acts like a “second skin”. The range offers unique bedding products that ensure you stay dry and comfortable throughout the night thanks to the innovative fibre called Tencel. Tencel is known as the “new age fibre” as it absorbs moisture naturally. The eco-friendly fibre is made from the wood found on the Eucalyptus tree, and has natural cooling mechanisms to control temperature and humidity.
The B-Sensible range of products are available in most sizes and are perfect for your individual needs as they offer very discrete, waterproof, breathable, hypo-allergenic, thermo regulating and ecofriendly bedding. Plus no additional under sheet or mattress protector is required so you have 2 sheets in 1! You can sleep soundly knowing that your mattress and pillows will remain stain free and fresh.

First impressions after taking the product out of it's handy carry bag and box I found that it didn't feel like I thought it would. When I heard the word 'waterproof' I was expecting it to be a thick plastic undercoating like you get on some waterproof bed sheets for children but because this didn't have that it felt as natural as sleeping on an ordinary fitted sheet except it does much more than your average fitted sheet.
This is great for me as I'm constantly having cups of tea in bed and spilling them so that means it won't damage the most important part of your bed-The Mattress and also on a Friday my little girl has breakfast in bed with me as my boyfriend is in work really early and a few times she spills milk onto the sheet so this means again that the mattress won't get ruined.

Also in the hot muggy evenings we have had over the summer it stays cool and doesn't make you feel really hot and clammy like other materials can do. Next I think I need to try out the Pillowcases as sometimes when my hair has been still slightly wet for bed it has damaged my pillow, so this will be an added bonus.

This product would also be great if you have small children that are still having a few accidents during the night as being a Mum I know that those bed pads that you can buy are no good and still ruin your mattress.

Some other great ways to get a good night sleep:

• Keep to a regular sleep schedule. So try and stick to the same number of hours sleep each day, plus the same bedtime and getting up time. This will make you feel far more energised when you awake!
• If you are finding sleeping difficult, try reading a book in soft light, this should do the trick!
• Eating a balanced diet and getting enough exercise will improve your forty winks routine. Avoid eating heavy meals late at night, and cut down on caffeine. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day, which won’t only help your sleeping pattern but your skin too.
• Prepare for sleep one to two hours before you go to bed. By getting into a relaxing routine, you will find sleeping easier when your head finally hits the pillow.
• Prepare your bedroom. Keep the room cool and fit blackout blinds to ensure darkness.
• Stress can be a major factor toward lack of sleep. Try to loosen your mind and write a ‘to do list’ to prevent overthinking during the night.
• Meditation can be an excellent choice to clear your mind of the day’s worries, leading to a restful night.

Have you tried out any of the B-Sensible Products?
Check out the B-Sensible Website for a list of stockists.

Puppy Talk #1

Hi Everyone! I thought I would start up a new series of blog posts called 'Puppy Talk'. If you read my Weekly Ramblings Blog Post then you'll know that we had a Jackapoo Puppy called Alfie 4 days ago and he is 10 weeks old. In my Puppy Talk Blog Posts I'm going to talk about how Alfie is progressing and it's also a way of sharing our puppy experiences together.

Alfie is settling in really well so far and I'm so proud of how he sleeps all night without chewing everything up or peeing all over the place. During the day he is really playful and has lots of naps as he is still only young.
As of today I have decided to Crate train him as he is quite good at not peeing all over the place but lately he is enjoying doing it at the bottom of the stairs. I've heard lots of mixed thoughts on crate training, so it would be nice to hear if you used this option to potty train your Puppy or did you find an easier option? I think after crate training for a couple of weeks he will be more confident in going outside to pee and hopefully not have any accidents in the house anymore.

It would be great to hear what you think of these series of blog posts and if you have any puppy tips it would be great for you to share too. It's just like writing a Mummy Diary apart from it's a Puppy not a Baby! Ha

Hope you are all enjoying your week so far.

Guest Post | Ice Cream Nails by Olivia - Never Ending Nails

Hello everyone! First of all, my name is Olivia and I own a little blog called Never Ending Nails. It's all based around the nail polish I buy, different nail art I create, the odd review, and little snippets about what I've been doing in the week! Secondly, I want to say a huge thank you to Sarah for letting me do a guest blog. I love her blog, and it's a huge privilege to have my nail art shown on it. And thirdly, how hot has the UK been recently?! The summer has pounced on us, and I am loving it! This is what I'll be using as my inspiration for my nail art.
I used the idea of ice creams and lovely, pastel, summery shades to create this manicure. I did it all free-hand, and I am quite pleased with the outcome! (Big apologies for my awful cuticles. I have a terrible 'picking' habit.)

I mainly used Barry M products, as they are my favourite brand and the finish is so smooth. You're guaranteed to finish with a beautiful set of paws!

For the little ice cream cones, I used a base coat of Barry M's Papaya or Green Berry Gelly, as they are such lovely and vibrant, yet still pastel, shades. For the cone I used Lychee, which is also a Barry M Gelly. I painted the ice cream on with Barry M's Matt White, and added little drips with their white nail art pen. The little cherry and criss-cross pattern were done with red and black unbranded nail art pens. Finally, the sprinkles were done with Barry M's Dolly Mixture Confetti (which is a total must-have, it's fabulous!).

The 'Fab' ice lolly nail was a lot less complicated to create. I just did a base coat of the Matt White, and then added the two stripes (in Barry M's Pomegranate Gelly, and Mushroom). Then I used the Dolly Mixture Confetti, again, to do the sprinkles! I love 'Fabs', and they're definitely a great treat to have on a baking hot day.

Last of all, I have my two polka dot nails. I used a base coat of Barry M's Guava Gelly (which is one of my favourite shades in the range) or Dragonfruit Gelly. Then I added the polka dots with Barry M's white nail art pen! I gave every nail a slick of top coat, to seal in the designs and for the extra shine.

If I did the manicure again, I would maybe use some different brands. However, I do think that the colours I chose really suit this weather that we're having here at the moment.
Thank you for reading my post, and I hope you enjoyed it. And thank you once again to Sarah for having me! I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

- Olivia x

Weekly Ramblings #23 We Have a Puppy ♥

Hello Everyone, Hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Sorry I've been a little quiet on my Blog over the last week but I have been finishing off my decorating, making the most of the sunshine and also have added a new addition to our family... A PUPPY!!
We have wanted a Puppy for a long time now and have really wanted a Jackapoo, So this weekend after seeing an advertisement for some Jackapoo's for sale local to us we thought we would go and have a look at them but as soon as we saw the only chocolate brown one glaring at us with his greeny-hazel eyes we absolutely fell in love and ended up coming home with him!
Alfie has been with us for 2 days now and I must say he is settling in great. When we surprised Lily and my Boyfriends Children with him they were so shocked and excited because they had mentioned for ages 'when will we get a Dog to take on our long walks with us', And now here he is!

Not much else has happened this week and I think I will be fitting my Blogging in with work and training our puppy from now on! Busy.

What have you been up to this week? Do you have any Puppy advice?

Empties #2

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've done an empties blog post so I thought I would show you all the products I've used up since my last empties blog post.

TRESemme Salon Smooth Serum: As previously mentioned on my blog, this is my hair savior. It works great on my hair extensions helping to eliminate frizz leaving my hair soft and smooth.
Will I Repurchase? Yes, I already have.

Love Your Skin Cleansing Water: This is such a lovely cleansing water that with it's Linden Blossom and Green Tea leaves your skin feeling clean, soothed and refreshed after use.
Will I Repurchase? At the moment I'm using L'Oreal Micellar Solution which is much cheaper than this product but I may have to repurchase it at some point because the smell is so fresh and rejuvenating.

Yardley Peony Body Wash: This is such a yummy fragranced body wash with it's delicate peony fragrance, it leaves your skin feeling moisturised, soft and also smelling devine!
Will I Repurchase? Probably not at the moment as I have so many body washes to use up.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation: I think I have ran out of 2 of these since my last empties blog post. I cannot fault this foundation as it does everything I want my foundation to do and gives a good coverage that leaves my skin looking radiant. Perfect.
Will I Repurchase? Definitely, But I may have to get a darker shade this time as I have a tan thanks to the gorgeous sunshine!

Avon Secret Fantasy Star Perfume: This is such a yummy fragrance for only £11. With it's Mandarin, Plum and Jasmine fragrance this smells great during the summer months. I have so many compliments when I wear it and people are really surprised when I say it's from Avon.
Will I Repurchase? I have kept repurchasing this perfume for the last 2 years. So I think it would be rude not to have it back in my collection!

Models Own Emerald City: This is such a pretty nail polish that reminds me of Dorothy's shoes in The Wizard or Oz (if they were green obviously!).
Will I Repurchase? Yes, but I purchased this in a trio so I'm not too sure if you can buy it separately.

Rimmel Super Wear Top Coat: This was such a good top coat that I picked up a while ago when Superdrug had an offer on. It made my nail polish last for ages. Bonus.
Will I Repurchase? I have took the plunge and purchased Seche Vite after hearing so many great reviews about it.

What products have you used up this month? Any products you recommend?

Guest Post | Water Marble Nails by Stacey - Cece Beauty

Hey guys! It’s Stacey from Cece Beauty! The lovely Sarah has kindly offered me to do a guest post on her blog and I’m so excited because I’m going to share with you my favourite way to do my nails - water marbling!
Water marbling is actually super easy to do and you can do so many fun designs with it. When I first done this to my nails, I found it complicated and a long process but with a bit of practice, it becomes a lot easier, I don’t even have to think about it!

What you need:

A few different colours of nail polish (preferably quite new polish as the thinner the consistency the easier it is to do!)
White nail polish
A small cup filled with water at room temperature
Some tape to make the cleaning process a little easier
A cocktail stick to make the design in the water
Nail polish remover
Cotton buds/ Q-tips
A top coat to protect your design!

1. First you need to paint all your nails with the white, making sure its opaque! This makes the other colours more vibrant and  opaque on the nail!

2. Use the tape and  apply it all around the nail bed of each finger. This means after your nails are done you can just peel the tape off instead of spending ages trying to remove all the excess polish from your finger!

3. Now this is the tricky part that people struggle with! Take your first colour and add a drop of it into the cup of water. The polish should spread evenly along the surface of the water. If it does not, you may need to adjust the temperature of the water or use a different polish!
4. Then add a drop of the next colour directly in the middle of the last, and keep going until you feel you have enough drops of colour. This step needs to be done quickly as the polish will dry on the surface of the water.

5. Next take a cocktail stick and gently swirl it in the colours to make a unique design.
With your nail facing down, dip your finger into the water on top of the piece of the design you want on your nail, hold for a few seconds and with a cotton bud (finger should still be in the cup, don’t move it!) collect the polish that is around your finger. It will be dry by this stage meaning it will collect on the bud easily.

6.Take your finger out and wollllaa, you have a crazy design on your nails!

7. Remove the tap, and clean up any excess polish with polish remover and a cotton bud.

8. Add a top coat to your design to stop it from chipping!

This picture was after I removed the tape. See, it makes the cleaning up part so much easier!!

I’ve done this to my nails sooo much and I absolutely love it. I always get compliments on it or questions like ‘’how did you do that?!’’ or ‘’are they real?’’. It’s a great way to jazz up you nails, and you can use as many colours as you want, and each time is different, so you’re always guaranteed a unique design!

Some of my other designs:

Thank you so much for reading this, I hope you try this technique out for yourself! If you do, please feel free to tweet me a picture of it!

OOTD | Summer Floral Maxi Dress

Dress & Belt: Primark
Sandals: Zara
Blue Bracelets: International
Nails: Maybelline Color Show Pink Bikini

Hi Lovelies, Are we all enjoying the weather? It has been so beautiful. The weekend my Boyfriend treated me to a new Summer Dress as I was having a moan that I didn't have nothing to wear (as us women do) and it was a bargain £13 from Primark with the belt included.
I teamed my Maxi Dress with my favourite Zara Sandals and my two Bracelets to add a pop of colour.
This dress is so simple yet I think it looks really pretty and perfect for the Summer Days we now have.
