OOTD | Casual Glitz

Sweater* - My Purple Boutique
Jeans - New Look
Sandals - George @ Asda
Lipstick - MAC Impassioned

Hi Lovelies, Hello to the weekend!
The cooler Autumn days have now reached us but I thought I would glam up my look today with this statement sweater from My Purple Boutique. I teamed it with some simple black skinny jeans from New Look and added my favourite George @Asda shoes to add a little bit of flesh to the outfit.
I love this sweater as it's not just your 'average' boring sweater and I also feel like it has an 80's vibe to it!

What do you think of this outfit? Is this sweater something you'd wear?

Don't forget to check out the My Purple Boutique Website as they have a gorgeous little range of clothing.

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

Hi Lovelies, WHOOOO Thank god it's Friday! I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend off! What are you guys up to the weekend?
While shopping yesterday I decided to go and treat myself to my FIRST EVER MAC Lipstick!! For over a year I have been saying that I'm going to start buying MAC Lipsticks but as soon as I'm at the counter I get baffled by the amount of shades that they have that I end up leaving without one.
Yesterday I had in mind that I wanted to get a statement lipstick that is nothing like I already own and that was Impassioned.

MAC's Impassioned is an Amplified finish which means it's high pigmented with a moisturising cream finish which is also long-wearing.
MAC describe the colour as an Amped up Fuchsia which is exactly what it is apart from it does have a few red and coral tinges too. It's such a gorgeous statement colour and is nothing like any lipstick I have in my collection.
As for lasting power it does last for a good 3-5 hours without drying your lips. This is great because I'm forever topping up my lipstick every hour or so but I won't have to as much with this shade.

MAC Lipsticks now retail at £15.00 which is a little pricey compared to highstreet/drugstore brands but I think it's totally worth it!

Have you tried MAC Impassioned? What's your favourite MAC Lipstick?

Maybelline Baby Lips | Cherry Me & Pink Punch

Hi Lovelies, Hope you are all having a lovely week so far. For a while now I have seen lots of Bloggers going on a hype about Maybelline Baby Lips that FINALLY came to the UK in August. I have read lots of great blog posts about the collection and it would have been rude for me not to purchase it when Boots was doing Buy one get one half price!
If you've never heard of Maybelline Baby Lips, It's a high moisture lip balm that is available in 3 tinted balms and 3 clear balms here in the UK but in Japan they have been available for over 3 years with the US following shortly after, They also have a wider range of shades than in the UK too.

I purchased Cherry Me, A sheer rosy red that has a juicy cherry scent and Pink Punch, A light fuchsia pink with a mouth watering passion fruit scent.
The other tinted shade in the collection is Peach Kiss, a nude peach with a peachy scent. As for the clear Baby Lips these contain SPF20 unlike the tinted ones which do not contain an SPF, These are all clear and are available in: Hydrate, A lemon and basil scent, Intense Care, A almond scent and Mint Fresh, You guessed it - A minty scent.

I must say I'm completely won over by the Maybelline Baby Lips Range, I wear them daily for work, especially Pink Punch, to keep my lips moisturised with a pop of colour! They are also a bargain for £2.99 too!

Have you jumped on the Maybelline Baby Lips bandwagon yet? What's your favourite shade/scent?

Weekly Ramblings #32

Image - We Heart It.

Hi Everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely week and weekend. Sorry I have been AWOL for a few days. Trust when I actually have some time to spear our laptop decides to play up. I thought it would take a couple of weeks to be fixed but luckily it was something simple, So I can now get back on track with all my blog posts.

Other than crying over a broken laptop (jokes) I haven't actually been up to much, just the same old work and daily routine. We have been planning super early for Christmas this year (sorry if talking about it is too soon) because other years we have left it until late November-December and this year we thought we would prepare in advance and I can't believe we have got one Christmas present already!

This week I also added a Blog Sale to my blog as I have so many things that I don't use or have only used once and at least if I get rid of some things I can then make way for new things I will actually use/need.
So if you would like to check out my Blog Sale then Click Here!

What have you been up to this week?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Lovers Coral

Hi Lovelies, Last week I was on the prowl for a new lipstick and I was originally going to get myself MAC's Sweet and Sour but silly me didn't realise that it was limited edition. All the other lipsticks at MAC wasn't really appealing to me, so I decided to have a look in Boots instead to find myself a new lipstick to add to my collection.

I was looking for a coral shade lipstick that also wasn't too OTT at the same time, This is when I decided on Lovers Coral from Revlon's Super Lustrous range.
The Super Lustrous Lipstick's are sheer and are more like Maybelline's Baby Lips rather than being a full on pigmented lipstick, this means you get a gorgeous colour without too much of a dramatic finish.
Lovers Coral is a gorgeous pink toned coral that also has a slight orange undertone. The lipstick feels smooth and moisturising on your lips and also doesn't dry out and start to look flaky.

I really love the finish of Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick and I think I now need to purchase a few of the other shades from the range!

Have you tried Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipsticks? What's your favourite Lipstick at the moment?

Sorry Seche Vite !

Hi Lovelies, A couple of months ago I purchased Seche Vite and went on a rather mad rant on my blog about how rubbish it is. Saves you reading through my rant I didn't get on well with Seche Vite because by the next day or sometimes within a couple of hours my nail polish was peeling straight off. This was rather aggravating for a £9 a bottle Top Coat.

When I applied Seche Vite I was waiting until my nails were completely dry before applying it but after looking into other peoples blogs and from the comments on my blog post I realised that you have to actually apply it to wet nails as it helps to penetrate through the nail lacquer to form a solid coating for a more durable finish.
After trying out this method for a number of times I have now found that it dries all your nail polish super quick and now my nail polish is lasting for a good 4-5 days.

After ranting in my last blog post saying 'How can I be using it wrong when I have been painting my nails since the age of 8'. I can now shamefully admit that I WAS actually using it wrong and that now I'm using it different it is now one of my favourite top coats.

Have you tried Seche Vite? Thoughts?

Weekly Ramblings #31

Image: We Heart It.

Hi Everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
As you may already know from reading my blog/twitter, I have been feeling a little under the weather for the last week or so, but on Friday I finally woke up feeling much better!
Apart from feeling sorry for myself, going to work and doing my general day-day stuff I didn't really get up to much, and as I had the weekend off we decided to have a lazy weekend as it has suddenly gone really cold outside.

Now that I'm better my Little Girl is now poorly with a cold and our Puppy, Alfie is now teething so he is feeling under the weather himself.
...And I also have a rather excited Boyfriend as GTA V is out today, So I guess I will be disowned as a Girlfriend for a little while! Ha.

What have you been up to this week? Hopefully next weeks Weekly Ramblings will be a little more exciting!

Monthly Favourites | August

Hi Lovelies, September... where the hell did you come from? This year really has gone so fast and Christmas is sneaking up on us quicker than expected. Anyway another month another monthly favourites.

Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Intensive Masque.

This has now become one of my favourite hair treatments EVER. No treatment has left my hair feeling super smooth and looking healthy as this treatment has. I have used 100's of high street and high end treatments over the years that have been 'OK' but this is truly amazing and for a cost of only £5.99, I highly recommend it. You can read my full review Here.

Moroccanoil Frizz Control.

Before trying out John Frieda's Frizz Ease masque (mentioned above) I had tried out this leave in frizz control treatment to help tame the frizz that I get in my hair extensions after drying. It did exactly this and left my hair smooth and more easy to manage. I now use it every time I dry my hair to eliminate any unwanted frizz. You can read my full review Here.

Fudge Paint Box - Purple Haze and Pretty Flamingo.

Last month I decided to make a huge change to my ombre hair by adding some pink and purple streaks to the ends. I used these two shades by fudge, available from Hairtrade.com, they are one of the best 'crazy' hair colour products that I have used. They contain no ammonia or peroxide and also come in an amazing range of colours.
A Blog Post on my new hair will hopefully be up sometime next week.

Elemis Skin Clear Treatment Gel.

Over the last month I haven't been feeling myself and have felt rather naff (being the only word that could describe it). This caused me to get a couple of unwanted spots which I find this treatment gel is great at banishing! I apply the gel once of a morning and before bed and the gel helps to reduce the blemish and cleanse clogged pores, so then in the morning my spots are reduced and heal much quicker.

H&M Lip Pen - Love That Pink.

While shopping in H&M last month I noticed these lip pens sitting right by the till so I thought I would give one a go as it only cost £2.99. This has to be one of my favourite go to lip colours that I wear daily and also for work. It's a pretty medium pink shade that looks great to wear daily and I find it also lasts for a few hours on my lips. Definitely a bargain for £2.99. I think I need to purchase some of the other shades now!
A review including swatches will be on my blog soon.

Models Own Fireworks - Banger.

The Models Own Fireworks Collection was released online last week and one of my favourite shades out of the collection is Banger. It's such a pretty top coat with it's blue and fuchsia glitters that I have been loving to wear on top of different base coats to give different effects.
You can see my full review on the Models Own Fireworks Collection including swatches, Here.

Barry M Gelly - Blueberry.

I have had my eye on this Blueberry Gelly nail polish for a while now and I finally purchased it near the end of August. This is a gorgeous creamy, bright, cornflower blue that gives you gorgeous 'look at me' nails. Whenever I wear this shade I get tonnes of compliments and the Gelly range is great because of their high shine finish and I find they last for a good 4-5 days on my nails.
You can see my NOTD wearing this nail polish, Here.

So that's all the products I have been loving throughout the month of August. What products have you been loving? Any recommendations?

TGIF!

Barry M Blueberry Gelly

Hi Lovelies, Hope you are all ok. I'm the biggest nail polish fan EVER and I'm also a big fan of the Barry M Gelly nail polishes as they are a huge improvement on the original Barry M nail polishes and they also come in a lovely range of colours with a glossy shine to die for!
I have added the Barry M Blueberry to my collection and this is a gorgeous creamy cornflower blue that looks so bright on your nails and makes a statement with it's glossy finish. I only needed to apply 2 coats to my nails and because of it's glossy finish you don't need to apply a top coat. I always apply a topcoat as I use a fast drying one to make my polish dry quick, and the Gelly polish lasted on my nails for 5 days with only very minor chips!

I know we should all be starting to wear our Autumn/Winter nail polishes now but I'm not really a fan of dark nail polishes, so I will carry on wearing my fun nail colours all year round!

What is your favourite shade from Barry M?

Weekly Ramblings #30

Image: We Heart It.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all ok and not too cold! How quickly has the weather changed? I've had to dig all my jumpers out and buy me some new winter boots and then to top off the cold weather I have ended up getting a cold myself, So I'm sat here feeling sorry for myself eating soup. Bleurrgggg.
I have had such a busy week as my little girl was back at school after the holidays. Even though we are up at the same time anyway during the holidays I find getting up of a morning such a pain in the bum and now that it's cold when I'm on my way home from work and when I wake up in the morning just gives me zero motivation!

I haven't really blogged over the last week as I have been busy getting back into a routine and because of feeling poorly too, But I have the day to myself tomorrow before I go to work so I'm going to write as many posts up as I can to schedule for you over the next couple of days, then hopefully I will be back on track and this vile cold would have gone too!

What have you all been up to this week? Any products/items you are loving for the Autumn/Winter?

Puppy Talk #4

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all ok. Alfie has grown so much over the last couple of weeks. He is 15 weeks old now so that means he is in his biting/chewing stage even more than before. I don't mean biting in a nasty way just that he would gladly have a chew on your finger because of his teeth coming through.
I invested in some teething gel from Pets at Home after every review it had was excellent, People were saying that their puppy was better as soon as they applied the gel, but this didn't work at all with Alfie. So after wasting £6 on a hyped up product I then picked up a cheap £1 rope toy that fits nicely in his gaps where his teeth are coming through and it has suited the job more perfect.

Also Alfie is starting to learn now that when we pop out for an hour that we are going to come back so he doesn't really cry anymore. Plus a tip I found on the internet is that dogs find Classic FM soothing, so I left it on the one day when I popped out for 20 minutes and thought I'd record him on my camera to see if he cried. I was absolutely amazed when I got home and flicked through my camera to see that he just lay there and was completely relaxed!

Do you have any puppy tips or advice?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Weekly Ramblings #29

Image: We Heart It.

Hi Everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely week. I can't believe we are now into September! Where the hell has the year gone. At least we have still had lots of lovely sunshine to enjoy but no doubt those horrible gloomy, cold days will soon be upon us. I better get myself another Onesie asap!
Over the last week I had 4 days off from work as holiday, It was lovely just to have some time off and not have to worry about going into work, I also made the most of my time off too by colouring my hair. It is now a little darker with my blonde ombre at the ends with pink and purple strands. If you follow me on Twitter (@sarah22xoxo) or Instagram (Ohhsoglam) then you would have already seen my new hair but I'm going to do a blog post over the next couple of days to show you the products I used.

My little girl is back to school today, She has been so excited for the last week to go back to school. Just before she went back we had lots of shopping trips buying her lots of new shoes and clothes as she has suddenly had one hell of a growth spurt and it was nice to have some girly time just me and her before she went back to school.

I'm looking forward to picking her up after her first day back at school and her telling me all about it. Then it's back to work for me later.

Hope you have all had a lovely week and weekend.

Yves Saint Laurent A/W Wishlist

Hi Everyone, Hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Unfortunately Summer is now over and Autumn is upon us, So I thought I would put together an Autumn/Winter Wishlist of products from one of the leading Makeup Brands, Yves Saint Laurent.

1. Touche Eclat Foundation. This has to be one of my favourite all time 'High End' Foundations. I purchased it last year on release and I really need to re purchase again for this Autumn/Winter. It is so light on the face and gives a dewy finish yet helps to conceal any imperfections while enhancing your natural beauty.
This is perfect for those cold winter months as I find heavy foundations can look dry and flaky on your skin.

2. Touche Eclat Lumiere. I think every 'Blogger' has tried this, I have purchased it on and off for a good number of years. It is a little pricey as you can get some good high street dupes now but sometimes their's nothing better than the real thing.
It's perfect at banishing those dark circles under the eyes, which I have lots of during the winter months and I find it great to use as a highlighter or sometimes I use a dab a little on my lips to bring out the true colour of a bright lipstick on top.

3. Eyeliner Automatique. Everyday I wear winged eyeliner as I find it opens up my eyes. During the winter months I usually just apply my winged liner to my eyes with lots of mascara teamed with a statement lipstick, this gives a simple yet elegant look.
This eyeliner is great too as it's easy to use with it's felt-like tip, lasts for hours on your eyes without smudging and is also super black in colour for maximum impact.

4. Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils Shocking. This is one of my favourite High End mascaras. After a few sweeps you are left with gorgeous fluttering eyelashes and I love wearing this mascara during the winter as I can have statement eyelashes teamed with winged eyeliner for a simple yet effective look.

5. Vernis A Levres Glossy Stain - 19. This is a new product from YSL that I haven't tried yet, but I'm absolutely lusting over it for this Autumn/Winter. It screams 'Holiday Season' and it's gorgeous red colour will look perfect with my simple winged liner and fluttery lashes for an elegant look.

What do you think of all the products I'm lusting over from YSL this Autumn/Winter? Is their any products that you have on your wishlist?

Hey! My names Jay and I'm 21 from the South West of England. I'm currently in university studying Criminology with Forensic Science. My blog is based on absolutely nothing to do with my degree (it'd be far more depressing and gruesome) instead it's on beauty & style with some personal posts thrown in there too. I've been reading other peoples blogs for years in my spare time so thought I'd bite the bullet and set up my own. I read and appreciate every comment and would hug every follower if I could (although I suppose not everyone would appreciate that...)!
