L'Oreal Velvety-Soft Toner & Eye Makeup Remover

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all ok. I can't believe the weekend is nearly here! Hooray. I'm really enjoying my second week into my new job but I'll be glad to have the weekend off to have a relax.
While shopping a couple of weeks ago I was on the search for a new cleanser as my current L'Oreal Micellar Solution had run out and I fancied trying something else. I decided on L'oreal Skin Perfection Velvety-Soft Toner and I decided to try the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover too as my eyes are really sensitive and thought this would be more gentle on my eyes.

L'Oreal Velvety-Soft Toner helps to remove Makeup and impurities from the skin and reveal a better skin texture. Compared to the Micellar Solution this has more of an oil texture to it but it still removes my makeup just as good and my skin feels more softer than it did after using the Micellar Solution.
As for the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover this was a huge epic fail! It says that it's a gentle eye makeup remover that effectively removes eye makeup. Gentle it was, but all it did was leave me with black smudged eyes. I had to remove my eye makeup with this and then remove the black circles around my eyes with the Toner. This to me is a waste of money as the main thing it should be able to remove is Mascara, but it was an absolute nightmare to get off.

I'm really happy with the Velvety-Soft Toner and prefer it to the Micellar Solution but I think the Eye makeup remover is a huge fail.
I purchased both of these items from Boots and they retail at £3.99 for the Toner and £2.99 for the Eye Makeup Remover.

Have you tried either of these products? What are your favourite skincare products at the moment?

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Calming Creamy Cleanser

Hi Lovelies. After trying out Super Facialist Deep Clean Clay Mask it has truly transformed my skin as it is more softer and clearer since I have been using it for 2 weeks and my skin just looks much better when I have no makeup days. Next it was time to try Super Facialist Creamy Cleanser...

Super Facialist Calming Creamy Cleaner is a gentle cleanser which is enriched with Cocoa and Shea Butters along with Pro-vitamin B5 and a blend of natural waxes that work to breakdown impurities and remove makeup from the skin without leaving the skin tight or dry.
This cleanser did just that and removed my makeup with ease and it is also gentle on the eyes too which is really good as I have the worlds worst sensitive eyes. After rinsing the cleanser with warm water my skin was clear and every trace of makeup was gone and I was left with cool, refreshed skin.

This didn't leave my face red and tight like some other face products I have used and it also has a lovely slight floral fragrance too which is really refreshing.

I'm completely loving Super Facialist products at the moment and I really want to try the day cream next.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan is available from Boots and Superfacialist.co.uk and the creamy cleanser retails for a reasonable £7.99.

Have you tried any Super Facialist products? What's your favourite?

Weekly Ramblings #40

Image: We Heart It.

Hi Everyone. Hope you have all had a lovely week and weekend.
I have been really busy this week as it was my first week in my new job. Previously I used to work until 10-11pm at night but now I finish at a civilized time of 5pm. I'm really enjoying my new job and some people might say 'you're only saying that now as it's your first week' But seriously I really love it and I'm glad I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to be offered such a great job.

In less than 2 weeks it will be my little girls 6th Birthday, I still haven't got her anything yet as I sorted all of her Christmas presents first and now I'm stuck because she has got absolutely everything a little girl could ask for! So if any of you have any great ideas then let me know in the comments.

What have you been up to this week? Are you getting ready for Christmas?

NOTD | Aurora

Hi Lovelies, Hope you are all ok. I thought I would show you all another one of my A/W favourite nail polishes - Rimmel Space Dust in Aurora.
This pretty nail polish is made up of micro shimmer and chunky glitters that give a full on textured and sparkle finish. The colour is really pretty too, it's a pale peachy-pink and silver shimmer shade that also has a pretty name to go with it too.
As this is a textured nail polish it was a bit of a pain to remove but not as bad as some other textured nail polishes I have tried. Just use lots of nail polish remover with a touch of elbow grease!

To catch up with you all, I started my new job on Monday so I have been super busy and my eyes are feeling rather strained as I've got to wait two weeks for my new glasses to come from Specsavers and spending 8 hours infront of a computer plus a couple of hours of an evening on my laptop has really started to take its toll on my eyes. But hopefully as soon as I get my glasses that strain should be taken away.
Other than that I'm really enjoying my new job and will tell you more about it in my next Weekly Ramblings Blog Post later this week.

Hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

Dr.Ceuticals Super Repair Hand Cream

One winter essential that we all need in our lives is Hand Cream. I'm a sucker for hand creams and winter really takes its toll on my hands and leaves them dry, chapped and not looking as feminine as they should.
I've tried out lots of Dr.Ceuticals products, so when I saw this hand cream I knew it would be good! This Super Repair Hand Cream is a beautiful light cream that dries super quick so you aren't left with annoying sticky hands and it makes your hands feel really soft and nourished just after its first use.

Dr.Ceuticals Super Repair Hand Cream contains anti-ageing enzyme Q10 alongside a proven pro-collagen peptide and hydrating glycerine. It also contains Allantoin and anti-oxidant Acai to further nourish and boost the repairing process, replenish lost suppleness and soften the hands to keep the signs of ageing at bay.
The enriched formula feeds your hands with key skin-saving ingredients to deliver instant relief to dry and chapped areas.

I apply this cream to my hands after washing and also on extra occasions during the day to keep my hands feeling soft and smooth.
I have noticed a huge difference after only using this cream for one week. My hands are now always soft to touch and there isn't a dry bit in sight! It's scent is also rather pleasant too, it reminds me of Nivea Creme.

Dr.Ceuticals Super Repair Hand Cream retails for a super price of £9.99 and is available from Boots Stores and Online at Boots.com.

Have you tried Dr.Ceuticals Super Repair Hand Cream? What's your favourite Hand Cream to use?

NOTD | Back To Black

Hi Lovelies. Hope you are all having a lovely week so far. Do you have anything planned for the weekend?
After my A/W Nail Polish Picks Blog Post I thought I would wear my new favourite black nail polish - Barry M Matte. I love this nail polish as on days I don't want the matte effect I can add a top coat for a glossy finish. I did just that with this nail look apart from before adding my favourite Seche Vite top coat I added a coat of Models Own Banger to my ring finger and thumb. I think this gives a different look to your nails and also looks great against the black.

What's your favourite nail look to wear at the moment? Have you tried any of these nail polishes?

Weekly Ramblings #39

Image - Source.

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I didn't really get up to much as I had a lazy weekend and I have also got conjunctivitis! It was only the other day that I had horrible flu and now this, urgghh what's wrong with me?. But this week I'm super nervous as it's my last week at work and I start my new job on Monday! Eeeeek.

For the last month I have been contemplating whether to chop my hair off and have a long ombre bob like the gorgeous Kimberley Walsh (above). I really love her hair here and I think it might be nice to have a change with my hair and also go more blonder too! What do you think?

Hope you all have a lovely week. Are you up to much this weekend? What's your favourite hairstyle?

Autumn/Winter Nail Polish Picks...

L-R & T-B Models Own Artstix Terra Crystal, Models Own Velvet Goth Valerian, Rimmel Space Dust Aurora, Kelly Brook Mermaid Song & Barry M Matte Espresso.

Hi Everyone! As we are long into Autumn, and Winter is slowly creeping up on us, I thought I would put together some of my favourite nail polishes for A/W13.
In previous years I haven't really been keen on darker nail polishes but this year I have surprised myself with some of my choices!

Models Own Artstix - Terra Crystal. I have a love/hate relationship with this nail polish. First of all I'm not a fan of brown nail polishes and when I first saw this combination in the bottle I thought how will this work together? But add Pink Crystal to your Terra Firma base coat and I think you have a rather random combination that works! The pink hexes and sliver glitter add a touch of girlie-ness to the boring brown base coat and turn your nails into pretty party-season nails, with a difference!

Models Own Velvet Goth - Valerian. This is a rich bottle blue colour which is also textured and has a matte finish (bang on trend for this season). I wasn't really keen on the textured nail polishes to start off with but I think the darker shades look great and this shade is so pretty with it's bright blue glitter particles that are in it.

Rimmel Space Dust - Aurora. Everyone needs a little sparkle during the winter party seasons and I think this shade is the perfect accompaniment to that LBD! Aurora is a really pretty peachy-pink & silver shade which also contains micro shimmer and chunky glitters to give a full on textured sparkle finish.

Kelly Brook Nail Polish - Mermaid Song. While shopping in New Look the other day this gorgeous nail polish caught my eye near the tills. It's such a different colour and nothing like any shade that I own. I'd say it's like a deep teal/green colour with an added emerald sparkle. It looks pretty on the nails and also an on trend colour for this season.

Barry M Matte Nail Paint - Espresso. Matte nail polishes are one of the top trends for this season and I think everyone should own a black nail polish as they can look really simple yet sophisticated on your nails. But for this season matte black nails look great with an accent gloss nail or even with added gold embellishments. I also love how I can leave the nail polish as it is for a matte finish or add a top coat to make it glossy. It's like having two nail polishes in one!

What do you think of my A/W picks? What are your favourite nail polishes for A/W13?

What to wear this party season

Christmas is a time of year where there is so much to look forward to, The Christmas dinner, the family times, the jumpers, and the magic of putting up the tree but my favourite part? The glitz and glam of dressing up. There’s nothing quite like finishing work, putting on a gorgeous dress and heading out to a party with your loved ones. Choosing the right part dress can be problematic though. Styles change every year and you don’t want to look the odd one at a party.

Here are a few tips on what to wear to where as well as what kind of dress you should be looking for:

• LWD. Little White Dress. Get in the spirit of the winter wonderland and look at little white dresses. These are more of a Christmas dress than a New Years option as they offer a soft, stylish look rather than glamorous but don’t be put off… these dresses are in at the moment and Kim Kardashian has recently been seen showing off her post pregnancy body in one of these classic numbers. If you want the glam element but fall in love with an LWD, why not jazz it up by adding metallics; albeit a leather jacket, shawl, belt or shoes.

• Sequins. A party must have. In fact a wardrobe must have. When it comes to party season, sequins are a standout favourite as they instantly make you dazzle. Fashion has moved forward and these days sequin dresses can be found in all different cuts so there is guaranteed to be something to suit you.

• Metallics. For those who love the glam but aren’t a fan of sequins. Start the New Year in style and lighten up the night (before the fireworks) in a shiny ensemble. Metallic dresses are dazzling enough on their own so wear with minimal accessories for the ultimate party

• Lace. A classic style that comes in all kinds of cuts and colours, designed to suit everyone. Look timeless and elegant in lace, this dress would be best for an office party.

• Lurex. This fabric will keep you warm on those winter nights but the metallic appearance will bring you into the party theme. A perfect winter choice you girls will love.

• LBD. Little Black Dress. The little black dress needs no introduction or explanation. It is the dress that can be worn by anyone, anywhere. LBD’s come in different styles, they can be accessorised as much as you like and are an easy choice for any party. A definite favourite by any girl who has ever worn a dress.

So there you go; a quick guide to choosing the perfect dress for the party season. For cute dress ideas, check out Sports Direct Fashion Outlet.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Clay Mask

After being poorly with the Flu for the last week, I decided to try out Super Facialist Tea Flower Deep Clean Clay Mask as my skin had become really dehydrated and I had started to get some unwanted spots appear.
This product is designed to clear your skin of dirt, excessive oils and toxins which lead to breakouts. It contains Salicylic Acid which has been proven to help unclog congested skin and also contains Dead Sea Mud which is rich in Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium and Iron which helps to give the perfect detoxing facial in the comfort of your own home.

After applying the mask to my face and leaving for 5 minutes before removing with a warm flannel, I was left with softer and more glowing, radiant skin. I think as with all face masks I need to use this in my skincare regime 1-2 times per week over the next 3-4 weeks to see if I can see a more bigger/beneficial difference to my skin.
So far it has worked great for me, and the smell is absolutely divine! But I will get back to you all and let you know in a couple of weeks if it's still keeping my skin radiant and if I have less unwanted breakouts.

Super Facialist is available Online or from Boots Stores Nationwide and the Tea Flower Pore Purifying Clay Mask retails at a reasonable £8.99.

Have you tried this face mask? Do you have any favourites?

Weekly Ramblings #38

Hi Everyone, Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and week so far.
I had a lovely busy 3 days off from work over the weekend as we had a Halloween Party for my little girl and my boyfriends children (see pics above), then we went to a local bonfire on the Saturday.
One other crazy thing I have done this week too is hand my notice in at work... OMG it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but I got a job offer to work daytime hours that fit around my little girl being at school so it would have been silly to turn it down.
I'm pretty gutted that I'm going to be leaving my current job as I have been there for 6 years now, but life goes on and sometimes change is a must!

Now all I need to do is get some shopping done to get me some new work clothes ready for when I start in 2 weeks time! EEEEKKKK.

What have you been up to this week? Did you do anything nice for Bonfire Night?

Makeup Haul

Hi Everyone, Last week I decided to treat myself to a little beauty splurge as I was feeling rather poorly and thought I might as well take advantage of Superdrug's 3 for 2 on makeup as there was a few things I needed to purchase anyway.
The first stop I made before heading to Superdrug was MAC. I had really wanted to try MAC Creme Cup lipstick for a while but my local MAC was always out of stock, but finally after weeks of waiting I managed to get my hands on it.

Next it was time to head over to Superdrug where I picked up Revlon's Photoready Foundation in natural beige as I was nearly running out and thought I would stock up as it was on offer. I also picked up Sleek's Contour and Blush Palette in light 373 as my favourite bronzer I use for contouring had smashed and I loved that you got a highlighter with it too and also a gorgeous pink/gold shimmer blush.
The last product that I had originally gone into purchase was Maybelline's The Falsies Mascara in black drama as I purchased Bourjois Volumizer Mascara a few weeks ago and really hated it, and I know Tanya Burr really loves this Mascara so I thought it would be worth a try.

The last set of products I purchased are all splurges as I didn't need to buy them but was tempted to get them in my collection, PLUS I couldn't resist that 3 for 2 deal! These are Sleek's Corrector and Concealer Palette in 03, I already have tonnes of concealers in my collection but I thought this looked great as it contains 2 shades of concealer plus a powder.
Next up is Sleek's i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in ultra mattes dark, as it has some gorgeous dark Autumn tones and also has some pretty bright shades too, to add a pop of colour.
The last makeup item I purchased to get another 3 for 2 deal is Maybelline's Eye Studio Khol Liner in dark brown. As I want to wear more of a smokey eye look with my eye shadow palette I purchased I thought I would get a brown eyeliner for my waterline as black can look a little too harsh on me and make my eyes look like they have sunk into my head! Also Maybelline eyeliners are my favourite too as they are super soft and glide on really well.

After picking out tonnes of makeup and getting 6 items for the price of 4 it was time to head over to the makeup brushes as I needed a new concealer brush and as Barry M had Buy One Get One Half Price on their makeup brushes I also picked myself up a new eye shadow brush too, as you can never have too many!

So that is a round up on my splurge/bargain makeup haul. Are there any products you recommend me trying or any products that I purchased that you'd like to see a full review on?

Enjoy your weekend.

bdb | billion dollar brows

Hi Everyone! A couple of weeks ago I asked you lovely #bbloggers on Twiiter for some advice on good eyebrow pencils/kits as I was having a serious 'Bad Brow' week and my eyebrows felt a mess.
To the rescue came billion dollar brows who gave me some wonderful advice and also kindly sent me some products they thought would benefit me to try and make my 'Bad Brow' days better!

As my brows are quite sparse from over plucking and waxing when I was younger they look absolutely horrid if I don't fill them in. I have huge eyebrow envy of girls that have gorgeous natural Cara Delevingne Brows but hopefully I won't have to envy anymore.

The first product they recommend me to help my sparse brows is Brow Boost. This is a vitamin and protein enhanced conditioner that helps to condition your brows for a fuller, thicker and healthier appearance.
This product needs to be applied to your brow line of an evening before bed. It goes on clear and dries instantly plus most customers see results after 30 days.
So far I have only been using this product for a week so I won't see any improvement just yet, but I have taken a before photo of my brows and I will record my results to you all in a months time to see if it has made a difference to my sparse brows.

The next products they recommended are the Brow Powder and Brow Brush. Up until now I have been using my Christian Eyebrow Kit which I found to be too heavy, and also the MUA Eyebrow Kit which I think made my brows look a little too fake!
This brow powder is in shade Taupe and compliments my hair colour perfectly. It applies smooth and leaves a natural looking finish, more natural than any other powders I have used. You also don't need to apply too much product to your brush as a little goes a long way.

Now for the Brow Brush, At first thoughts I thought it would just be like any old eyebrow brush that I own, but its bristles are more softer in texture which helps to create clean and soft lines without making them look too harsh. It also has a handy spoolie brush on the other end too, to help blend the brow powder for even more of a natural finish.

Billion Dollar Brows is available online and the Brow Boost retails at £25, Brow Powder £18 and Brow Brush £17.

What are your favourite brow products?
