2014 Favourites | Skincare

The final category in my countdown to 2015 is Skincare. I'm more a hair, makeup and nails person as my skincare regime is quite minimal, but here are my 5 favourite skincare products of 2014...

Vita Liberata PHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion - This has to be one of the best fake tanning products I have ever tried. Not only does it leave me with a dark flawless tan but it can also last for up to 2-3 weeks too without streaking!

You can read my full review Here.

Rituals Hammam Delight Foaming Shower Gel - I'm a huge fan of Rituals' foaming shower gel's and this fragrance oEucalyptus and Rosemary really invigorates your senses. Perfect to wake you up of a morning.
You can read my full review Here.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - This product is such great value for money as you can get up to 200 uses in each bottle, plus a 400ml bottle only costs £4.99. It's a product I use everyday to remove my makeup and it isn't too harsh on my skin.
You can read my full review Here.

Lush Santa's Lip Scrub - There's nothing worse than dry lips and using this product every other day helps to banish any dry skin from my lips, leaving them soft and kissable! It also tastes super yummy too!
You can read more about this product in my Mistletoe-Ready Lips Post.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Balm - This is such a cult beauty product and helps to heal dry chapped lips with intense moisture. I apply this product every-other night after using my Lush Lip Scrub as an overnight lip treatment and also apply during the day when my lips need some added moisture. This product retails at £20.00 but a little goes a long way and it's definitely worth it!
You can read by full review Here and also read more about this product in my Mistletoe-Ready Lips Post.

2014 Favourites | Bloggers

Image: We Heart It.

So far in my countdown to 2015 we have had my Nail, Makeup and Hair favourites and today is my favourite bloggers of 2014. It was really hard to narrow it down to 5 bloggers as I read so many blogs but here are my top picks...

Couture Girl -  I featured Kayleigh's blog in my 2013 favourites as I have been a loyal reader of her blog for a number of years. I started reading Kayleigh's blog from when she only had a handful of readers and it is great to see how much her blog has grown over the years. Now she has a whopping 15,000 Bloglovin' followers and counting. Her content is spot on and she never writes a bad blog post. Kayleigh, you should be proud <3.

In the Frow - I've only recently started reading Victoria's blog and I can't believe I have never come across her blog before. Her content is fab, she has a perfect fashion sense AND THAT HAIR!! I have major hair envy.

Love & Liquor - I have been reading Laura's blog since she first started out last year and advertised on my blog. In 2014 her blog has grown so much and I love her beauty reviews as she goes into lots of detail and doesn't just give a half-arsed review! Her OOTD posts are also a favourite too.

Beauty and the Chic - I think I first came across Claudia's blog after following her on Instagram.  Her photography puts mine to shame and I love her disappointing products blog posts.

Lydia Elise Millen - I have been following Lydia's Blog for a number of years now and also follow her on Twitter and Instagram. Not only does she have a body to die for and an amazing fashion sense, she is also really down to earth and when I needed some fitness advice, she was more than happy to help me out.

2014 Favourites | Hair

Following on from my Nail and Makeup favourites, today's category is Hair! As I wear hair extensions and bleach my hair, I like to keep it in good condition and sometimes find it hard to find products that also work well with my extensions.
Here are my haircare favourites from 2014...

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Above I have the Oriental fragrance but I love all of the Batiste fragrances. Last year I featured Batiste's hint of colour dry shampoo in my 2013 favourites and I thought it would be rude not to feature Batiste again as it is a product I use on my hair between washes to keep it looking clean and fresh.

Tresemme Liquid Gold Hair Treatment - I didn't pick this product up until late this year (check out my Superdrug Haul Post) and it is one of the best serums I have tried. I have tested lots of Argan oils in the past that work great on my own hair but they seem to have the opposite effect on my extensions. This serum works great on both and helps to maintain my hair extensions condition keeping them smooth and frizz free.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment - I use this product before drying and straightening my hair and it helps to keep it smooth, straight and also banishes humidity from causing any frizz.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Deep Treatment Masque - I featured this product in my October Favourites as after using it for a number of months, twice per week, my hair has become much smoother, nourished and my hair has also grown much quicker since using it!

Beauty Bay Detangling Brush - I purchased this brush a while ago and it cost me around £5.00, after looking at Beauty Bay recently it is now only £2.50! This is a great brush to have as it works well at brushing through my hair extensions and fits perfectly in my handbag. The bright pink colour is also a favourite too!

2014 Favourites | Makeup

Following on from My 2014 Nail Favourites yesterday, today I'm going to share with you some of my makeup favourites from 2014.

Cargo Let's Meet in Paris Eyeshadow Palette - This has to be one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes EVER!  It contains a gorgeous selection of 12 highly pigmented shades (all with French fitting names) and they all have a professional and long lasting finish.
You can read my full review including swatches Here.

Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer - This concealer is a perfect match to my skin colour. I have the shade perfect nude and it is perfect to use under the eyes, on any blemishes and I also like to use it to tidy around my brows. It leaves a flawless finish and doesn't look cakey on the skin.
You can read more about this product in my November Favourites.

Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Soft Brow - I didn't purchase this product until late November this year. This has to be one of the best brow products I have ever tried as with its mousse/gel-like formula, it leaves your brows looking super natural and it also doesn't budge until you say so!
You can read my full review Here.

Rimmel Gel Liner in Black - I have loved this product for a number of years now and repurchased it in October this year as I needed it back in my life! I wear winged liner everyday, so you can imagine how many felt liners I would go through in 1 month. The last time I purchased this product it lasted me for 10 months without drying out.
You can read more about this product in my October Favourites.

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Julianne's Nude - I randomly picked up this lipstick to take advantage of the 3 for 2 in Boots then when I tried it I realised that it is actually a dupe for my favourite MAC Lipstick - Creme Cup, yet for half of the price. It has a creamy finish and isn't drying on the lips.
You can read more about this product in my October Favourites.

2014 Favourites | Nails

Hi Everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. To countdown the days to 2015, I'm going to share with you my 2014 favourites from 5 different category's - Makeup, Hair, Bloggers, Skincare and today I'm starting the countdown with my nail favourites.

Barry M Gelly in Prickly Pear - I'm not usually one for purple nail polishes but this is a light grey toned lilac that looks pretty on the nails not only for summer but for winter too.

Models Own Beach Bag - This is one of my favourite nail polishes from summer 2014. It's a creamy, peachy orange shade that looks gorgeous with a tan.

Rimmel Breakfast in Bed - This nail polish is from the Rita Ora Collection and this shade reminds me of Essie's Mint Candy Apple as it is a cool minty blue shade. Perfect for the summer and it also looks fab teamed with Rimmel's pop art top coat.

MUA Pitch Black - Everyone needs a black nail polish in their collection as it goes with anything and I also think it looks quite elegant on the nails. This nail polish is my favourite as it only costs £1!

L'Oreal Color Riche in Sequin Explosion - This is a gorgeous top coat that looks fab on your ring finger teamed with any other nail polish. It literally a sequin explosion as it is packed with multicolour sequins.

NOTD | Sequin Explosion

Elegant Touch Stiletto Nails | L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish in Black Swan & Sequin Explosion
Hi Lovelies. Christmas is only 2 sleeps away... EEEKKKK. Are you all ready for Christmas now?
Last week for my work Christmas party I decided to have stiletto nails for a change and used Elegant Touch's Stiletto False Nails.

For my nail colour I opted for L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish in Black Swan and on my ring finger I wanted to add some sparkle so I purchased Sequin Explosion... which is literally a sequin explosion!
As for the stiletto nails, I was really pleased with how they looked but it was virtually impossible to do anything with them even as I did file them down a little too. The next morning I took them off as soon as I woke up as I couldn't function with my hangover let alone with these nails! I will stick to my favourite Nailene Full Cover Petite Nails from now on!

What do you think of this nail combo? Are stiletto nails a favourite of yours?

My 2014 Winter Lip Favourites

L-R Revlon Raspberry Pie | Maxfactor Cherry Kiss | L'Oreal Julianne's Nude | Too Faced Marshmallow Bunny
I'm definitely a summer girl as I love pink and coral lipsticks, but this winter I have stepped out of my comfort zone and opted for a couple of berry and red shades - even though I can't live without my favourite nudes.
Here are my favourites that I have been loving this winter...

Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie - While on the prowl for a berry lip colour, I came across one of Miss Budget Beauty's old blog posts and saw the shade Raspberry Pie and completely fell in love, so I went out and purchased it the next day. It is a pretty, deep raspberry shade that suits my skin tone and as it is a lip butter it is super nourishing on the lips and doesn't dry them out.

Maxfactor Colour Elixir in Cherry Kiss - This lipstick is actually out of the Maxfactor All That Glitters makeup set that was free with any purchases over £15.00. My Auntie gave me this as she doesn't like red lipsticks, and I had been searching for the perfect red shade but as soon as I put this on I fell in love. It is a vibrant red shade that is non drying and really moisturising on your lips. It also lasts for ages too and has an even fade.

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Julianne's Nude - This is a dupe for MAC's Creamcup but for half of the price. It is a creamy nude pink shade that feels super creamy on your lips and also doesn't dry out. This is my everyday favourite and is always in my handbag.

Too Faced Lip Cream in Marshmallow Bunny - This is another of my favourite nude shades . It is a girly baby pink colour with a slight golden shimmer. Too Faced lip creams are super pigmented and contain a moisturising formula that helps to keep your lips feeling soft and looking more smooth.

What's your favourite winter lip shades?

Mini Superdrug Haul | Bourjois & TRESemme

I'm a sucker for 3 for 2's in Boots and Superdrug and while on the prowl in Superdrug last week, I only popped in for a Bourjois eyeshadow I had been lusting over but thought it would be rude not to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer and also spotted a TRESemme product that I hadn't tried!

The first product I picked up was Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadow in Beige Pailettes 10. I have been lusting over this product for a while now and wanted a nude shimmer eyeshadow for my work Christmas party and also for Christmas day, so I thought I would pick this up and I can't wait to use it.
Next I decided on Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara, I can't find a link to this on Superdrug's or Boots website so hopefully that isn't a bad sign and I hope it will leave me with full, fluttery lashes!
The final Bourjois product I picked to take advantage of the 3 for 2 was Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Beige. I used to wear this foundation all the time many years ago and after using other foundations I thought I would add it back into my collection again.

While walking to the till I then spotted a TRESemme product that I had never seen before - TRESemme Liquid Gold Perfecting Hair Treatment. I was actually running out of my favourite TRESemme Salon Sleek Serum so thought I would try this out instead. After trying this out yesterday morning I'm super happy on how smooth and frizz free my hair is and will have a full review on my blog soon.

Have you tried out any of these products? What products have you been treating yourself to?

Mistletoe-Ready Lips

Lush Santa's Lip Scrub RRP £5.50 | Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Balm RRP £20.00
There's nothing worse than chapped lips, especially during the Christmas season when us girls are digging out our favourite red lipstick out of our makeup bags.
I thought I would share my two favourite products that help keep my lips super soft and mistletoe-ready!

Every other night before bed I use Lush's Santa's Lip Scrub to buff any dry patches from my lips and then remove any excess with a little warm water. It is cola flavoured too and tastes super yummy on your lips!
After using Santa's Lip Scrub, and also every night before bed, I then apply a generous amount of Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Lip Balm to my lips. This is a lovely treatment for your lips and I wake up every morning with softer and smoother lips. This product is also great in the summer too as it contains SPF 20 to help protect your lips against damaging UV rays.

What's your favourite winter lip product? Have you tried any of these products?

Monthly Favourites | November

And now the countdown to Christmas begins! How quick did November go? I literally blinked and we were in December.
I have been super busy the start of the month as it was my daughter's 7th Birthday, so my monthly favourites post is a little delayed. On the plus side she had a fab birthday and I have also nearly finished my Christmas shopping!

In November I have been loving so many products (again) that I would have been here forever listing them all, but here are my top favourites that I have been loving during November...

John Frieda Sheer Blonde | Everlasting Blonde Colour Preserving Shampoo.
After lightening my balayage hair in November but opting for more of a beige blonde rather than an ash blonde, I was on the prowl for a non purple shampoo to help maintain my blonde shade. John Frieda hair products are my favourite and this shampoo has helped to stop my blonde hair from fading and also leaves my hair feeling super soft.

Avon Secret Fantasy Midnight Eau de Toilette Spray.
I'm a huge fan of all of the Avon Secret Fantasy scents that I had to try out the Fantasy Midnight last month, plus it was on offer too for only £6 too! I can go through perfume in a matter of weeks if I love it that much, so these perfumes are great for work as I'm not wasting my super expensive perfumes and they still smell just as good. I'm no good with the 'fragrance lingo' but this is a fruity refreshing fragrance.

Cargo Lets Meet in Paris Palette*.
In November I reviewed this palette (here) and I have been using it everyday ever since! On the outside it is encased in an elegant damask fabric and on the inside are 12 highly pigmented eye shadows. This is one of the most highly pigmented palettes I have ever tried and they are extremely long lasting too., perfect for me as I usually get ready for work around 7am, and when I return at 5pm my eye makeup hasn't budged!

Kiko Precious Illuminating Bronzer*.
How pretty is this bronzer? Not only on the outside but on the inside too. This is the perfect bronzer for the winter as it doesn't look harsh on the skin as it gives a natural looking, velvety, radiant finish. You can read my full review and see some of the rest of the Kiko Luxurious Collection here.

Dirty Works Cosmetic Sponge.
I have been wanting to try out a cosmetic sponge for a while now and while shopping in Sainsbury's I came across this Dirty Works one. I'm the biggest fan ever of Dirty Works products so I knew this wouldn't fail to please! I use this to help blend concealer around my eyes and with its pointed end it makes blending super easy. Also for a bargain of £2.00 it's well worth picking up while on your next food shop!

Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer.
In all my years of wearing makeup I have never found the perfect match concealer to my skin... Until now. I have the shade Perfect Nude and this is the perfect shade for my skin. It smooths onto your skin with ease, keeping it hydrated so you don't get that cakey effect. I mainly use this under my eyes, on any blemishes and also to define my brows. If you are looking for a new concealer I highly recommend that you try out this one first... You won't be disappointed.

Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade and Brow Brush.
I have recently reviewed both of these products on my blog (here) after purchasing them from Cultbeauty.co.uk. I have the shade soft brown which is the perfect shade as I have lightened my hair and I use the #12 angled brush to apply. Before using this product my brows were starting to look really harsh and unnatural using my MAC eye shadow, but this mousse/gel-like formula leaves your brows looking super natural and it also doesn't budge until you say so!

Revlon Raspberry Pie Lip Butter.
In need of a new Autumn/Winter lip colour, I was reading some of Miss Budget Beauty's old blog posts and came across Revlon's Raspberry Pie. When it comes to nude lipsticks I know what I want, but with darker shades I don't have a clue what suits me! Whenever I wear a darker shades I always feel like an idiot, but Mikhila mentions in her post that she even wore this lipstick to work as she felt so comfortable wearing it. From this point I knew I needed to try this lipstick out. It's a pretty berry, red shade that looks perfect and as it's a lip butter it doesn't dry out on your lips! Perfect. This lip colour is also going to be featured in my favourite Autumn/Winter lipsticks too!

What products have you been loving? Are any of the above your favourites?

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dip Brow Pomade and Brow Brush

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Soft Brown RRP £15.00 | Duo Brow Brush RRP £15.00

I have been lusting over Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade for a number of months now and finally decided to take the plunge and treat myself. The only disadvantage with Anastasia Beverly Hills is that it isn't available in any UK stores, so it took me a good hour to finally decide on which shade to have. In the end I decided on Soft Brown as I thought it would blend in more with my brown and blonde balayage hair!

Previous to trying out Dipbrow, I have been using MAC's Croquette eyeshadow but as my hair is now a little lighter it doesn't really suit me as much any more.
Dipbrow is like no brow product I have tried before. It has a gel-mousse formula that glides onto your brows like a dream and also doesn't budge until you say so! It can take a little getting used to as if you apply too much product they can look rather fake, but once you have found the perfect technique you can wave goodbye to bad brows! I also think it teams up perfect with the Anastasia #12 Brow Brush as the angled brush is super thin to help draw hair-like strokes to keep your brows looking natural and also has a handy spooley on the end to help shape your brows.

After trying out this product for the last couple of days, I'm completely happy with the results and glad that I took the plunge to try it out. I will share my brow results in any Face of the Day posts on my blog soon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is available from Cultbeauty.co.uk and both of these products retail at £15.00 each. I also highly recommend this site as it was the only UK site I could find that had all of the range of colours available.

Have you tried Dipbrow? What's your favourite brow product?

Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks in Pink

Makeup Revolution has completely taken over my makeup collection over the last month and the one product I have been super eager to try (but had to take blog photo's before I could actually use them) was The One Blush Sticks which are cheaper alternatives to the very over priced NARS Multiples, A multi-purpose stick that can be used for the cheeks or lips.
In the range there are 8 shades in total, Malibu, Dream, Rush and Pink which are available in two different finishes (matte or shimmer).

First of all looking at the packaging they have even gone into great detail as the matte shades have matte packaging and the shimmer shades have shiny packaging. I really like it when cheaper brands actually put effort into their packaging and don't just keep it basic!
I have the shades matte pink and pink as these are shades that I usually wear everyday. They are really easy to work with, are creamy in texture and are also super pigmented too. They are easy to work with as you just apply the colour to where you want it then blend with your fingers.

As the two shades are both pink, I find the standard pink to be a little more subtle with a satin finish and the matte to be more vibrant in colour (it can look a little scary in the tube) but once blended it looks super pretty. The colours also work great on the lips by applying to your fingers and sweeping on for a subtle look. They also last a good 4-6 hours too even though I do like to top up my makeup during the day.

This product has to be one of my favourites from Makeup Revolution so far and is an absolute bargain for only £5 compared to NARS Multiples £30 price tag! I really want to try matte rush next and also malibu to see if that might work as a contour colour!

Makeup Revolution is available Online and from Superdrug Stores.
