Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

Cocoa Brown has lately become one of the most talked about fake tans. For a reasonable cost of £7.99 I thought I would put this tan to the test and see if it's better than some of my favourites.
I'm a Xen Tan and St.Tropez Girl at heart but for the expense of these tanning products they still don't really blow me away and for the cost they don't last that long either.

Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter 1 Hour Tan has experienced unprecedented success since it stormed the tanning market late last year and is now considered a cult beauty item by beauty insiders. It contains accelerating ingreedients that help it develope quickly and you can be left with a light tan after 1 hour or leave for 3 hours for a darker tan.

I have put this tan to the test by leaving it on for different durations. For my first test I was old school and left the tan on overnight, after showering in the morning I was left with a gorgeous deep, dark tan. For my second test I only left the tan on for 1 hour, this left me with a slight golden tinge but I wasn't happy with the results as I like the tan to be more noticeable. Leaving the tan for 1 hour would probably suit pale skin tones that are a little nervous about looking too dark.
Finally I left the tan on for 3 hours, this left my skin with a noticeable tan but I felt it wasn't as dark as leaving it on overnight but I still had a lovely tan.

To prep myself for tanning I tested out the Rough Stuff No Nonsense Scrub. This is a lovely smelling scrub that definatly banished my rough bits. I don't know if I'd repurchase this scrub as I'm a little biased and love my soap and glory!
To apply the tan I also used the Cocoa Brown Tanning Mitt, this is the best way to apply a tanning mousse as it helps to leave you with a smooth and flawless looking tan. It also helps to protect your hands from turning a dodgy orange colour too!

I'm really happy with Cocoa Brown's 1 Hour Tan. If I'm in a rush and I want to be tanned the same day I will leave on for 3 hours or if I can wait I will apply before bed and leave overnight.
This tan is also great because it contains Vegetable derived DHA and No Parabens so it's kind to sensitive skin. It also lasts on your skin for 5-7 days and fades lovely, Plus it doesn't have that biscuit fake tan scent! Bonus.

This product gets top marks from me. I love this product that much that I even put it in my 2013 favourites

Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter is available from Feel Unique & Superdrug.

Have you tried the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan. What's your favourite tanning product?

Maybelline Color Tattoo | Eternal Gold & On and On Bronze

So I've finally joined the Maybelline Color Tattoo Blogger hype... Nearly 2 years later! But better late than never I guess.
I decided to purchase these the other day after being more than happy over the last month with my Too Faced Return of Sexy Palette I thought it would be nice to have a change and use some brand new eye products.
I decided on the shades Eternal Gold and On and On Bronze. These are shades that I wear everyday and suit me perfect, so I knew some use would come out of them if I had them in my collection.

Eternal Gold is a pretty gold shade that looks great swept all over the lid with a winged eyeliner. On and On Bronze is a lovely creamy brown/bronze shade, this also looks great swept all over the lid or looks even better teamed with Eternal Gold and I think it's the perfect shadow to use on your bottom lash line.
The texture of these eye shadows is a gel/cream. This dries lovely on the lid and after applying before work at 7am in the morning my eye makeup is still in place when I finish at 5pm!

I'm really happy with the Maybelline Color Tattoo's. They are a bargain at £4.99 each and were even better as I got them from Boots - Buy on get one half price! Wheyy.

Did you join the Blogger Hype? What is your favourite shade?

Also if you know a good brush to apply these with then please let me know. I'm currently using my concealer brush to apply these as my usual eye shadow brush doesn't apply them that good!

TAG | The Blogger Made Me Buy It!

I love a good old Tag Post! After seeing this Tag Post on Danielle aka Famous in Japan's Blog I thought I would give it a go. I'm feeling under the weather again at the minute so I thought it would be something fun to do that doesn't take much thinking or effort. Plus it's great to see how us bloggers influence each other and make us spend money!!

Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

My most influential bloggers have to be Lily Melrose from LLYMLRS and etcLLYMLRS, I love her fashion sense and I 100% trust her with her beauty reviews. Kayleigh from Couture Girl, I trust her reviews and love her photography. Milly from Pearls and Poodles, Her reviews are great, she loves all the products I love and I love her makeup looks. Finally Corrie from Dizzybrunette3, I love her style and her reviews.

Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

I normally read quite a few blogs if I'm unsure about a product but if I really want to purchase a product and one of my favourite bloggers mentioned above has given it a great review then I would purchase it.

What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

My favourite item that I have purchased as a consequence of a blog has to be MAC Creme Cup. I had seen soooo many bloggers write great reviews about this lipstick and it looked so much better on the lips compared to in the tube. It is now my go-to lipstick and I need to repurchase another one soon.

What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

Hmmm this is a hard one as I study long and hard before purchasing a product I'm unsure on. The one product I must say was a complete epic fail was L'oreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. A few blogs I had checked out said it was great and some even said it was a dupe of a high-end product but on me all it did was smudge my eye makeup and I had to use normal cleanser to remove the panda eye patches!

Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.

The most recent I purchased was Maybelline Color Tattoos in Eternal Gold and On and On Bronze (Blog Post coming soon) This was thanks to Couture Girl as I remembered her blogging about these a long time ago. Nailene Full Cover Nails in Petite Square thanks to etcLLYMLRS, I always thought her nails looked so lovely and natural; then I found out that she used these falsies that look really natural and not too long on the nails. Maybelline The Falsies thanks to Tanya Burr mentioning it on most of her YouTube Videos. Rimmel Apocalips in Aurora thanks again to etcLLYMLRS, She used the words dreamy and outstanding quality so I was sold right there! Finally Rimmel Space Dust in Aurora again thanks to etcLLYMLRS. I think I can safely say she is great at reviewing and thanks to her I have found some amazing products.

Have you ever given into blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

OMG I have given into quite a few blogger hypes but I'm normally a month behind as I like to make sure it's really worth it. The biggest hype I instantly gave into was the Maybelline Baby Lips. They are a bargain for £2.99 so it would have been rude not to!

Have you ever avoided blogger hype?  If so, which hype?

The one hype I have avoided is the Urban Decay Naked Palette hype. I have so many eye shadows and one of my everyday eye looks is neutral shades, so it would be completely pointless to purchase any of these palettes as I wouldn't use them plus they are a little pricey to just be stuck in my draw!

Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

Most of the time you will see me shopping in Boots (or Superdrug) and after seeing a product I like I will conveniently Google it on my phone to see if there are any reviews. But sometimes I will just buy a product without checking, this is just mainly on nail polishes!

I Tag you all to do this post as it's really fun and it really does show us how us bloggers actually do influence each other. It may not be good on the bank balance though!

OOTD | Boxing Date

Top: River Island
Leggings: H&M
Frilly Socks: River Island
Boots: Primark
Bag: Primark

It's mad to think that these photos were taken last year! Every Boxing Day me and my boyfriend have a date night where we always go for some food and to watch a film at the cinema. This boxing day we went to Nando's and watched The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug. It was a really good film but personally I don't think it was as good as the first one!

Back to the outfit... I picked this top up in the Boxing Day Sales, It's two sizes too big for me but as soon as I saw it I really wanted it and I didn't really care if it looked too big as it's so soft and snug to wear. I teamed this top with a pair of leggings and my favourite frilly socks. My bag was one of my presents for Christmas off my Boyfriend. It was an absolute bargain for £8 from Primark and I think it looks more expensive than it actually was!

Finally my hair, If you read my New hair, New hair product blog post I did a couple of weeks ago u'll already know that I decided to chop my hair off! I still kept some of my favourite Halo Hair Extensions in my hair to keep it super thick, these are my all time favourite hair extensions and they last for ages!

What do you think of this outfit? Did you pick up any items from the Boxing Day/January Sales?

Top 5 2013 Favourites | Hair

Happy New Year Everyone! It's now time for the final category in my Top 5 2013 Favourites... Hair.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Intensive Masque (Blog Post) - This hair mask is a savior of mine! I use it after every wash on my hair. For daily use I just use it like an ordinary conditioner and rinse straight off, then for a fortnightly treatment I leave on my hair for 5-10 minutes wrapped in a towel.
This leaves my hair feeling soft and looking more healthy plus it makes my hair more easier to manage and comb through after washing.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow-Out Spray (Blog Post) - I love a bit of volume in my hair and this helps me create more volume without being too over the top. I just use a couple of sprays in the top section of my hair before I dry using a round brush, this leaves my hair full and bouncy making me feel a little bit glamorous!

Moroccan Oil Frizz Control (Blog Post) - I always used this product after washing my hair extensions as it made them a little easier to manage and left them feeling soft and frizz free. I still use it now on my shorter hair just to keep it in good condition as I do regularly use bleach and colouring products on my hair.

Batiste A Hint of Colour Dry Shampoo - Omg what would I do without dry shampoo? I wash my hair every other day but between washes my hair needs a little something to revive it. I've loved Batiste Dry Shampoo for a long time and the coloured ones are much better as you can't see them at all in your hair. Perfect.

Fudge Urban Texture Blaster (Blog Post) - This is a new addition to my hair collection as I have been using it everyday since I decided to chop my hair off a couple of weeks ago. It's great at adding texture without leaving your hair feeling sticky and it also bushes out great too without leaving any trace of product behind. This is great for me otherwise I'd have to wash my hair everyday!

What are your favourite Hair Products of 2013? Don't forget to check out my previous 2013 Favourites Posts: Skincare, Nails, Makeup and Blogs.

Also if you want to recommend any blog posts you'd like to see from me in 2014 then let me know in the comments.

Happy New Year
