Restaurant Review | Revolution Birmingham

Hi Lovelies. Hope you are all having a lovely week so far. I have been super busy but on Sunday Me and my boyfriend got to try out the new menu at Revolution on Broad Street, Birmingham.
The menu has been created by executive chef, Mark Rush and his development team and the new menu is inspired by all things Americana, delivered with Revolution-style twist.

From the outside it looks like your typical bar on Broad Street, but on the inside it's super trendy and has an elegant feel about it. One of the only negatives we had was that we were greeted by a rather drunk man who was later taken away by Police... What a great start to the night! It did make us feel a little uneasy at first but obviously the staff complained about him that's why he was escorted away!

Back onto the food... For starter I had the Garlic Flatbread, really simple but a perfect starter for me as it was full of flavour yet it left room for my main and desert. My boyfriend had Houmous, Sun blushed Tomatoes and Flatbread which he said was extremely yummy, the Houmous was even served it a cute little jar too. Cocktails for starter I chose Cranberry Fizz which was really refreshing and also low calorie too (like it matters) and my boyfriend had his all-time favourite White Russian.

For main course our next selection of drinks were Bubblegum Sour for my boyfriend, which tasted just like bubblegum with added sweets and I did want a Bellini but they ran out of Peach purée so I ended up something that the waiter surprised me with and it was Prosecco mixed with raspberry (completely forgot the name) and it was super yummy! For food my boyfriend had The Bourbon Bad Boy, which was HUGEEE, even he couldn't eat it all. I opted for Fish and Chips which had crushed mint peas which were absolutely delish! Again, I couldn't eat all of mine because it was so huge! I really love how the food was presented on boards rather than plates, it gave it more of a rustic feel. I also tried Revolutions own 'House Ketchup' which was 100% better than original ketchup and was really sweet and had a smokey BBQ flavour.

Time for desert and my boyfriend was boring at stuck with his favourite New York Cheesecake. I thought I would be different and I decided to try the Chocolate & Blueberry Fluffwich. fluffy dough, sandwiched together with chocolate and fluff marshmallow in a sweet batter, served with blueberry sauce for dipping! This was really odd yet super yummy!
It would be rude not to end the night with another cocktail so my boyfriend decided to have Sweet Shop this time which tasted just like sweets and was also garnished with sweets! and I had a Pornstar Martini... Yummy, fruity passion fruit Martini served with a shot of Prosecco on the side... YUM YUM! I could have easily of drank more.

We really enjoyed our meal at Revolution in Birmingham and would more than happily eat there again. When we first got there it was really off putting with the drunk man and I did feel like walking out, if only it was situated somewhere better than Broad Street, as it isn't one of my favourite places in Birmingham!

10/10 on the service and food. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Have you tried the new menu at Revolution? What's your favourite food?

  1. I absolutely love Revolution although I agree that sometimes it's a bit of a mix between a bar full of drunks and a classy restaurant but I enjoy it as either! I also love their cocktails! :) x

  2. Wow that looks amazing!
I'm quite surprised actually as the Revs in Nottingham is pretty much a hole.
The only good thing about it are the cocktails but the food looks really nice here

  3. That burger looks insane! Only ever been to one Revolution for food in Nottingham and I wasn't that impressed. Love their cocktails though!!

  4. Those cocktails look amazing, as does all the food!
It looks like Revs are stepping their game up!
    Jess x
